Hans Petter Kvåle has been one of the more colorful
people in horse racing circles for decades. He has accomplished
most racing and breeding horses. Dublan is perhaps the
horse most closely associated with Hans Petter Kvåles
name. Many will remember with joy the great midsummer
parties during the 1980's, fishing salmon and other activities
on Kvåles farm in Orkdal
Currently Hans Petter Kvåle lives in Aarnes, where
he has several stallions for breeding. 10th May this man
from Troendelag celebrates his 60th birthday. On this
occation he wishes to do something for the project in
India, funded by the horse racing community.
Donations
- I've always been a happy boy, and enjoy
doing something extra. After having heard and read about
the project in India, I felt that I wanted to contribute.
I figured that my 60th anniversary would be a great time
to start, says Kvaale and smiles. He's already got the
concept ready.
- The local authorities of Orkdal has paid the rent for
renting the local communiey centre. That's where the party
will be arranged. I've invited the prime minister Bondevik,
the regional minister Kaare Gjoennes and the local chairman.
Anyone who wants to come is welcome to my party. The only
condition is that they don't bring me any gifts. In stead
all gifts should be given as a money donation to a bank
account in "Orkdal Sparebank". This money will
be donated to the "Fadderbarnas Fremtid", witch
is the Norwegian relief organization that will be responsible
for the building of the "orse racing village"
in India. They want to build a village hall - and there
will certainly be a village hall, HP promises.
Hat auction
- The money we raise from the party will most likely
not be enough to cover the building costs, witch will
amount to about 70 000 norwegian kroner. That's why I
challenge all horse racing organizations in Norway to
donate their share. There is of course no reason why others
involved in horse racing could not contribute too, says
Kvaale. He purchased five cowboy hats, which he intends
to put up to an auction to raise even more money.
- The hats will be signed by several celebraties. I'm
a good friend of Nils Arne Eggen, and the soccer players
of the Norwegian club Rosenborg have already signed one
hat. In addition Nils Arne has provided signed T-shirts
that will be put up to auction too. Another Norwegian
soccer club, Lillestroem, has been challanged to do the
same thing. In addition I've challenged both the prime
minister and the government to sign a hat. One hat will
be signed by leaders and celebraties within horse racing.
The concept is that it will be possible to place a bid
for the hats to the last day of the "Horse 2002"
arrangement at Hellerudsletta. That day Sagi Knut will
show up at the "Horse 2002" arrangement.
After all Sagi Knut and his owner started the whole India
project. That's why my auction will end that day, says
Hans Petter Kvaale.

45.000 Norwegian kroner into bank account in Orkdal
Sparebank
Hans Petter Kvåle's 60th birthday was celebrated
in the Orkdal local community centre, with more than 80
guests. HP has now raised 40.000 Norwegian kroner. 11.200
kroner was donated at the party. 10 horse racing organizations
have donated 500 kroner each. All together 45.000 kroner
has been raised.

- 80 guests came to celebrate my 60th birthday at the
Orkdal local community centre. Many were elderly people
and we enjoyed the party till late at night. The local
chairman couldn't make it, but the local authorities donated
2.000 kroner without any application from us, says Hans
Petter Kvåle.
He is impressed by the enthusiasm that people show for the
Ranshet wadi project. 11.500 kroner was donated at the party,
and several from those who came to the party had already
donated money directly at the local bank earlier on. 40.000
kroner was raised at my birthday. With the contribution
of 500 kroner each from 10 horse racing organizations we
have now reach the amount of 45.000 kroner all together.
The money will be used to build a community and production
hall in Ranshet wadi.
How is the hat auction going?
- I haven't got any bids for the hats yet, but I hope to
reach 4.000 kroner for each hat. It would ad up to 20.000
kroner. Then I've reached the goal I've been working towards.
The last chance to place a bid will be at the last day
of the Horse 2000 arrangement at the Hellerudsletta, says
Hans Petter Kvåle.
Årnes 31.05 2002
10 000 FOR THE DNT HAT!
The auction of the hat signed by the present and six
former chairmen of the DNT is now finished. Harstad og
Oppland travlag made the last bid by 10.000 NOK (Norwegian
Kroner). Another 2000 NOK has been collected for the town
hall, and the total amount on the project bank account
is now 57.000 NOK.

- The auction of the hats has really had a kick off.
When Harstad og Oppland travlag bid 10.000 NOK for the
DNT hat I banged the club, making the coffee cups dance
on my kitchen table. Harstad og Oppland travlag also supports
"Fadderbarnas Framtid", says Hans Petter Kvåle.
- I will use the club again on any bids like that on
the remaining hats signed by the football players on Rosenborg
and Lillestrøm, the present and former mayors of
Orkdal and Nes på Romerike, or the hats signed by
the prime minister and other politicians."
- We will be able to fully finance the equipment for the
town hall in Ranshet wadi soon. An additional 2000 NOK
has been collected from the private sector, and the total
amount on the bank account in Orkdal is now 57.000 NOK",
says Hans Petter Kvåle, and appeals to all people
to call and bid on the hats.

- So far 65.000 NOK has been collected for the project,
and everything will be transferred to Fadderbarnas Framtid",
says Hans Petter Kvåle.
WANTS MORE BIDS ON THE HATS
The participation during the closure of the hat auction
on the "Hest 2000" was low, and 4 hats are still
open for bids. Hans Petter Kvåle will continue the
auction until a respectable bid has been made.
- I appeal to horse racing organizations, owners, companies,
AND NOT LEAST EVERYONE BETTING ON HORCE RACING that haven't
allready contributed to the project, to bid on the hats",
says Hans Petter Kvåle, available on the phone number
